AROMA ESCAPISM

We find ourselves in a second lockdown and since bars are closed for at least another couple weeks, we've thought of a way to create the escapism aspect of our bar in your own home. Our scented candles and wax melts with your favourite cocktail fragrances are the answer! 
Escapism at the bar
A cocktailbar fulfils more purposes than just being a place to hang out and consume drinks. We believe a qualitative bar offers a place of comfort, a place to meet old & new friends, interact socially and see real life people after all those zoom meetings. Besides being a place where you can enjoy great drinks, a cocktailbar also has the very important function of offering escapism. When you sit yourself down at our bar, distraction and entertainment is everywhere. Our 800+ bottle backbar is a candy store for adults with many known, some forgotten and a lot more new flavours to discover. The entire bar is a place which you can feast your eyes on. The skilled bartenders give you a show to watch, while you're enjoying your drink and chat with a (new) friend.

Our Flying Dutchmen Cocktails bar is a place you visit to forget your daily worries, that negative zoom call or stress of an upcoming deadline. Our bar is a place where, for a moment, you can leave the real world behind. That moment you cross the threshold of Flying Dutchmen Cocktails, you start to give the night your own direction. You are in charge. Do you want to escape to a tropical island? Order one of our concoctions filled with lush ingredients that mentally transport you to that bounty island getaway.
Aroma Escapism
As bartenders we have always been thinking about aromas, as 80% of what you taste is determined by what you smell. We've been researching their influence on the perception and complexity of our cocktails. A particular smell can remind you of a special person, spark pleasant memories and transport you to exotic places. A fragrance can transport you to a place you want to be at that moment. Get away from the daily grind, corona isolation and the nostalgia for socialising with others. Aroma's in a way offer escapism. And to get us all through this second lockdown, we've turned our favourite 'escapism themed cocktails' into a line of scented candles and wax melts.

Cocktail scented candles & wax melts
Fancy that bounty island getaway? Our Koko Klapa will take you there. In need of some relaxed quality time with a loved one? Burn our Pomegranate Margarita scented candle: warm notes with some pink pepper to heat things up. Want to start your day with a clear head? Use our Mimosa wax melt or scented candle. The bright orange zest and blossom aromas will cheer you up and help you stay alert throughout the day. In need of som deep relaxation? Our Lavender Aviation lets you fly away to a world of dreams. This floral number is filled with lavender, violet and pine aroma for a relaxed atmosphere. A great addition to your bath- or bedroom. Nostalgic for that cabin in the woods? Our Penicillin will fill your house with a lovely smoked oak and ginger scent. Looking for an aroma to add to the holiday spirit? Smell our Flying Dutchmen Cocktail with speculaas, orange zest and orange blossom. Or opt for our Old Fashioned, which will also bring you that warm spice note, reminding you of the classic bourbon based cocktail with cinnamon and orange.
